Allie Ostrander, a 2015 graduate of Kenai Central now living in Seattle, finished 16th Sunday in the women’s 5,000 meters at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on Sunday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Ostrander finished at 16 minutes, 12.03 seconds, with Elise Cranny winning at 15:49.15.

June 11, Ostrander had run 15:26.5 in the 5,000 at the Portland Track Festival in Oregon, but Sunday’s race was different due to the temperature reading of 82 degrees on the track. The heat meant the pack started the race slower.
