Kenai runner finishes 4th in Eugene Marathon

Kenai’s Jason Parks finished fourth at the 15th Eugene Marathon on Sunday in Oregon.

Parks, who won the Kenai River Marathon in 2019 and won the Kenai River Half Marathon in 2020 in an event record 1 hour, 10 minutes and 38 seconds, finished the 26.2-mile event in 2:23:47, averaging 5:30 per mile.

The victory went to Tyler Morse, a Bowerman Track Club Elite runner, in 2:20:29. The race, which finishes inside storied Hayward Field, was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and was conducted virtually in 2021.
