The Homer softball team will be looking for a fourth-straight Northern Lights Conference title and a 20th state berth in 21 tries at the conference tournament Friday and Saturday at Houston High School.

The Mariners, the No. 2 seed, open against No. 3 Palmer at 1:30 p.m. today. Soldotna, the No. 4 seed, opens against No. 5 Houston at 11 a.m. The winner of that game plays top-seeded Kodiak. The Stars are looking to get back to state for the first time since 2017.

Kenai Central had to bow out of the tournament because it did not have enough players available.

There are two state berths available at the double-elimination tournament.
