SoHi’s Walton, Tree to play hockey at Brigham Young

Staff report

Soldotna seniors Dylan Walton and Josh Tree both recently signed their National Letters of Intent to play hockey at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The Cougars play in the Mountain West Collegiate Hockey League within Division II of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Walton earned first-team all-Railbelt Conference honors for the Stars this past season after leading the team in assists and finishing among the team leaders in points. He earned varsity letters all four years for the SoHi hockey team.

Tree was pivotal during the 2019-20 season, when the Stars finished second in the Division II state tournament. He earned a pair of varsity letters for Soldotna.
