Hoops roundup: Soldotna girls roll to another dominant win

The host Soldotna girls basketball team improved to 3-0 with another dominant victory, topping Homer 56-17 on Tuesday.

The Stars had opened up their season with a 68-16 victory over Kenai and a 49-11 victory over Seward. Homer falls to 0-2.

Morgan Bouschor had 19 points to pace the Stars, while Autumn Fischer had 11 and Drysta Crosby-Schneider added 10.

For Homer, Laura Inama’s nine points led the way.

Homer boys 43, Soldotna 40

The visiting Mariners moved to 2-0 by dropping the Stars to 0-3.

Homer led 22-17 at halftime. Soldotna cut it to 32-30 after three quarters, but Homer was able to close out the game.

Clayton Beachy had 14 points to lead the Mariners, while Josiah Raymond had 11. For the Stars, Ethan Sewell had 12 and Nate Johnson added 10.

Kenai Central girls 33, Seward 29

The host Kardinals won for the second straight game, edging the Seahawks down the stretch to improve to 2-1. Seward fell to 0-2.

Emma Beck had 18 points to pace the Kardinals. Shelby Siemanski led the Seahawks with 12 points, while Anevay Ambrosiani had eight points.

Kenai Central boys 59, Seward 57

The host Kardinals moved to 3-0 by edging the Seahawks. Seward is now 1-1.

Jordan Kvasnikoff had 19 to pace the Kardinals, while Jacob Kvasnikoff had 13, Bridger Beck had 10, Maison Dunham had nine and Lucas Tunseth had eight.

For Seward, Max Pfeiffenberger poured in 28 points, while Sam Koster had 14 and Levi Deboard had eight.
