The Kenai-Soldotna JV and varsity football games scheduled for Saturday at Soldotna High School have been canceled.

Kenai Central coach Dustin Akana said the number of players in practice has been low this week due to non-COVID 19 illnesses. Considering the low numbers, Akana said it would not have been safe to play the Stars.

Kyle McFall, Soldotna athletic director, said in an email a varsity replacement opponent could not be found for homecoming. The Homer junior varsity team will play Soldotna’s JV at 2 p.m. at Soldotna High School.
