SoHi grad McCormick defends GNAC title in 800

Danielle McCormick, a 2015 graduate of Soldotna High School, defended her title in the 800-meter run Saturday at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Monmouth, Oregon.

McCormick, a senior at the University of Alaska Anchorage, won the event with a time of 2 minutes, 8.67 seconds, and also placed third in the 1,500 at 4:27.74.

UAA finished third at the meet. McCormick claimed one of the five individual titles by Seawolves on the second and final day of the meet.
