Soldotna hockey shuts out Juneau

The Soldotna hockey team notched a 3-0 victory over Juneau-Douglas on Thursday in Railbelt Conference play at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

Corbin Wirz had the shutout for the Stars on 22 saves, while Cody Mitchell stopped 25 for Juneau.

All of SoHi’s scoring came in the second period. Trent Powell had a pair of goals, while Wyatt Medcoff had a goal to go with two assists.

Juneau faces Kenai today at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility before facing off with Soldotna again at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the sports complex.
