Two men accused of Wildwood drug smuggling

Two detention center inmates are facing drugs charges after security guards reported finding heroin under a cell mattress.
Willam S. Kindt, 45, and Donald J. Ruhl, 42, were charged April 18, after state troopers were alerted to the presence of heroin in a cell at Wildwood Pretrial Facility, according to court documents.
Troopers dispatched to the scene allegedly found a package containing a black tar substance — presumed to be heroin — weighing 15.721 grams. They also found pieces of gloves and other packaging, according to a trooper affidavit.
Kindt is also accused of instructing Ruhl to smuggle items in a body cavity, troopers reported. Both Ruhl and Kindt denied the heroin belonged to them, according to the affidavit.
Kindt is charged with first-degree promoting contraband, a class C felony; first-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a class B felony; and fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Ruhl is charged with first-degree promoting contraband, a class C felony; and fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
