What’s happening at the Kenai Senior Center for the month of November 2014 (all activities are held at the Kenai Senior Center unless otherwise stated):
■ Monday, November 3 — National Sandwich Day 11:30 a.m.
■ Tuesday, November 4 — State/General Elections 7 a.m.-8 p.m. in the Game Room
■ Thursday, November 6 — Old Time Religion Sing-Spiration 6:30 p.m. (Finger Food Potluck)
■ Monday, November 10 — Celebrating Heroes ‘A Salute to our Veterans’ Doors open at 3 p.m. Potluck Dinner (call Center for additional information 283-8211)
■ Tuesday, November 11 — Closed in honor of Veterans Day
■ Wednesday, November 19 at 11:30 a.m. — Birthday Lunch
■ Wednesday, November 19 — No-Host Dinner to Pizza Boys in Soldotna; leaving Center at 4:30 p.m., $5 van ride
■ Tuesday, November 18 — Tea Time Craft at 1p in the Dining Room
■ Monday, November 17 — Mystery Drive (weather permitting) $5
■ Friday, November 21 — Down Home Turkey Trot Dance featuring Bull Don and the Moose Nuggets 6:30 p.m., $5 and a finger food to share
■ Tuesday, November 25 — Hilcorp Thanksgiving Dinner 11:30 a.m. (call Center to sign up)
■ Thursday, November 27 — No regular scheduled activities
■ Thursday, November 27 — Thanksgiving Day Potluck (call Center for a ride before Wednesday, November 26) KSC will provide the turkey. 11:30 a.m.
■ Thursday, November 28 — No regular Scheduled activities
■ Conversational Spanish: Mondays — 1-1:30 p.m. Beginning Spanish / 1:30-2 p.m. Audio Spanish / 2-2:30 p.m. Instructional Spanish
■ General Exercise: Monday / Wednesday / Friday — 9 a.m.
■ Growing Strong Strength Training Class: Monday / Wednesday / Friday — 10 a.m.
■ Line Dancing: Monday / Thursday — 10 a.m. at the Kenai Recreation Center (Please stop by the KSC to sign up for Beginning Line Dancing)
■ Tai-Chi: Tuesday / Thursday — 10 a.m.
■ Zumba Gold: Tuesday / Thursday — 2 p.m. — donation suggested
■ Walter Walking at Nikiski Pool: Tuesdays and Thursdays ($3 van ride) 7:30-9:30 a.m.
■ Knitting — 1 p.m. Fridays
■ Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. — Pinochle
■ Tuesdays at 12:35 p.m. — Bridge
■ Wednesdays at 1 p.m. — Dominos
■ Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. — Tripoly
■ Wednesday, November 5 and 19 — Social Security virtual office: 9 a.m.-noon (The Kenai Senior is the venue to talk to the Anchorage Social Security Office. This is a first come first serve service. A signup sheet will be available when you arrive at the KSC. No appointments and no age limits.)
■ Council on Aging — Thursday, November 13 at 4:30 p.m.
■ Kenai Senior Connection Board Meeting — Friday, November 21 at 9:30 a.m.
Community Meals are served Monday – Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Our mission at the Kenai Senior Center is to serve as a community focal point for senior services where adults 60-plus come together to engage in opportunities for dignity and personal growth. Please call (907-283-4156) or stop by our facility (361 Senior Court, Kenai AK 99611) anytime during regular operating hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m.) – Monday – Friday.
