Soldotna High School

KPBSD Cinderella’s Closet is collecting gently used formal dresses, shoes, and accessories for the 2020 prom. This is a program which helps ALL area high school students (KPBSD and home-schooled) with free dresses, shoes and accessories for prom and homecoming.

We have helped over ,1050 ladies in the past 13 years, 145 last year! Prom dresses: We accept formal dresses, shoes and accessories for prom. All sizes are welcome, however, we are in particular need of dresses in size 12 to 18. Homecoming dresses: We accept short dresses for the homecoming dance. Prince Charming Trunk: We accept suits of all sizes, dress shirts, male dress shoes and accessories. Items can be dropped off at the main office of Kenai High School between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Since the donations are made to a school, tax donation forms can be issued upon request.

If you have any questions, please email epokryfky@kpbsd.org for more info or visit and like us on Facebook: @cinderellacloset.kenai Thank you on the behalf of our students!

The after-school tutoring buses will start running on Sept. 3. There are two buses that leave at 4:15 p.m. You must be on the route list to ride the bus. See Ms. Wear in the library to find out more information and/or get on the bus list. You can also email her at twear@kpbsd.org or call 260-7036, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Soldotna Stars Letterman Jackets are available to order at http://www.neffco.com. Click on Varsity Jackets, find our school by State, select Soldotna High School, starting at $149 you can personalize it anyway you would like. Makes a great Christmas gift!

SoHi Pool Schedule

M/W/F Morning Lap: 6:30-7:30 a.m.

Sport Calendar: http://www.arbiterlive.com/Teams?entityId=21192 or http://www.asaa365.com/

There are two ways to order a transcript. Each way serves a different purpose.

If you need a transcript sent to a college or NCAA or a similar agency, then you will need to log on to http://www.parchment.com to order transcripts to be sent. The request is then forwarded to SoHi. After processing, it then goes through cyberspace — rather than the U.S. mail — to get to its destination, which is much faster! ALL transcripts that are headed for NCAA, colleges, etc. have to be processed this way!

FINAL TRANSCRIPTS! A final transcript is one that shows your second semester grades. If you order your transcript when we are in second semester, you will need to make sure you choose “next grading period” when you go on to Parchment, that way your transcript request will wait until the grades are in at the end of the year before it is sent.

Cook Inlet Academy

Pep Rally! The students came to chapel wearing their blue and gold swag on Wednesday, March 4 as the school kicked off basketball regions. Regions was March 4-7, and we had a half day of school on Friday! Our very own pep band played at the games and we loved showing our school spirit. Prizes were awarded for the student with the most school spirit! It was great fun to see teachers in their blue and gold tutus! Before any of this happened, on February 28, both basketball teams traveled to Nikolaevsk for games and Nikolaevsk took the victories. These teams are all skilled players and there will be more match ups in the Regionals. Also, on March 2, both teams played Homer JV teams on the home court. Cook Inlet Academy Eagles and Lady Eagles won those games. They were spirited games with great sportsmanship on both sides.

The first day of the Regional Tournament on Wednesday, March 4, saw the following spirited games:

Game 1, Ninilchik girls team vs Lumen Christi girls team: Lumen Christi took the win.

Game 2, Cook Inlet Academy varsity boys team vs Birchwood Christian School boys team: Birchwood Varsity Boys were the winners.

Game 3, Cook Inlet Academy Girls vs Kodiak ESS Girls: game was postponed until Thursday when the Kodiak team couldn’t fly due to weather.

Game 4, Nikolaevsk Boys Varsity team vs Nanwalek Varsity Boys team: great game and Nikolaevsk Boys won.

Thursday, March 5, started with the postponed game of the Cook Inlet Lady Eagles playing against the Kodiak ESS Varsity girls team: The Lady Eagles were the victors in that contest. That was game 3.

Game 5, Nikolaevsk Lady Warriors vs Lumen Christi Archangels and Nikolaevsk girls won.

Game 6, Birchwood Varsity boys team vs Lumen Christi varsity boys and what a game that was! The gym was packed and the fans were cheering and the play was amazing. Lumen Christi pulled off the win.

Game 7, Birchwood Girls Varsity vs CIA Girls Varsity in another very close and great game that gave CIA Lady Eagles the win. This puts the Lady Eagles into the Championship Game on Friday, against Nikolaevsk Varsity Girls Team at 6:30 p.m.

Game 8, Nikolaevsk Warrior Boys Varsity faced off against Ninilchik Wolverines Boys Varsity in an amazingly skilled and high level of play game. Ninilchik won, which send them into the Championship Game on Friday at 8 p.m.

Friday will have a full slate of six games to be played and as this is being written those games haven’t started, so next week will have the exciting results.

Also with this tournament format, the 2nd place games will be played on Saturday starting at 10:00.The second place winners will get a berth at the state tournaments.

This has been an exciting week at CIA! There was wonderful sportsmanship all around and only a few injuries. One of those, however, was CIA’s own Tatum Rozak, who is one of the Lady Eagles and had an injury that will side line her for the rest of the tournament. We are praying for a quick recovery for Tatum.

We also had Cat in the Hat celebration Week. It was a combo deal week with lots of fun things going on!

The School Board met on Thursday, Feb. 27 and again on March 2. The Budget meeting will be coming up on March 30.

Raffle Ticket Information: It is Spring Ticket Selling time and we are kicking off one of our largest school fundraisers by opening up our raffle. This year we have 11 great prizes on the raffle, including two huge cash prizes. One for $1,200 and one for $1,000. Families are asked to sell at least one book of tickets per student but to make it more fun and to raise as much money for our school as we can we are also offering up prizes and incentives for our students and families to sell as many tickets as they can!

If you are willing to help in any way with any part of the raffle, please contact Heather DiLucchio at 907-740-8577 by calling or text.

Raffle tickets can be signed out starting Thursday, Feb. 27: DUE DATE April 27.

As a reminder, one of the ways we fund things at Cook Inlet Academy is through our Raffle Ticket Sales. The largest fundraising opportunity we have during the year is the raffle. Our computers and other school electronics that your student(s) use, our library, our teacher’s health care, our playground, sending our 11th and 12th graders to Summit, and many other things around the school, all benefit from this fundraiser.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Kelley at 262-5101.
