On Dec. 19 at 12:35 a.m., Alaska State Troopers were notified of a reckless driver in a parking lot in Nikiski. After investigation, Dana Johnstone, 51, of Nikiski, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On Dec. 17 at 6:08 a.m., Kurt Rosenquist, 32, of Kasilof, drove to the Alaska State Troopers Soldotna Post, requesting an insurance citation be corrected. When asked for proof of insurance, he provided forged insurance documents. Rosenquist also admitted to using these same forged documents to correct an insurance citation another time. Rosenquist is also on conditions of release. Rosenquist was arrested and taken to Wildwood Pretrial for two counts of second-degree forgery, tampering with physical evidence, violating conditions of release, and failure to provide insurance.

On Sept. 7 at 9:35 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report about damaged and stolen items from an Alaska Department of Fish and Game weir on the Anchor River. Investigation showed that Charles Tangman, 37, of Anchor Point, and Jennifer Reiser, 38, of Anchor Point, had damaged and stolen the items. On Dec. 12, Tangman was arrested on charges of theft and criminal mischief, along with an unrelated warrant for his arrest. Reiser was given summons to appear on the same charges and released.

On Dec. 19 at 7:05 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Green Timbers in Homer after receiving the report that Ryan Johnson, 22, of Homer, was violating his conditions of release by being at the residence. Johnson was arrested and taken to the Homer Jail, pending arraignment.

On Dec. 20 at 1:03 a.m., Alaska State Troopers performed a traffic stop for an equipment violation in Kenai. After investigation, Rachel Thomas, 37, of Kenai, was arrested for driving while license revoked and violating conditions of release and taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On Dec. 20 at 1:29 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report that a vehicle had struck two moose at Mile 162 Sterling Highway, and the driver was injured. The driver, Jesselee Altman, 30, of Homer, received non-life-threatening injuries and was later taken to the local hospital by private vehicle for treatment. His vehicle was a total loss. The moose were picked up by local charities.

On Dec. 19 at about 3:20 a.m., Kenai police responded to a 911 call near a local Kenai business. After investigation, Daniel Sipary, 38, of Kenai, was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On Dec. 18 at 12:57 a.m., Kenai police conducted a routine traffic stop near a local Kenai business. After investigation, Sonja F. Barbaza, 48, of Soldotna, was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 18 at 4:37 a.m., Kenai police contacted a vehicle in the ditch near the Kenai Spur Highway and McCollum Drive. While conducting a welfare check on the occupants, the driver, Tommy R. Nicholson III, 25, of Soldotna, was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 18 at 9:26 p.m., Kenai police located a wanted subject at a local Kenai business. A records check indicated that Sarah Tressler, 29, of Kenai, had an outstanding Soldotna Alaska State Troopers $1,000 warrant for failure to comply. Tressler was taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 18 at 10:58 p.m., Kenai police conducted a routine traffic stop near Mile 8 on the Kenai Spur Highway. After investigation, Donald E. Howell III, 46, of Kenai, was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 17 at 10:55 p.m., Kenai police conducted a routine traffic stop near South Forest Drive and the Kenai Spur Highway. After investigation, Donald A. Eide, Jr., 54, of Kenai, was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 16 at 12:16 p.m., Kenai police received a call about a female near 10576 Kenai Spur Highway, slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. After investigation, Mariah L. Fruichantie, 29, was arrested for fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 15 at 3:14 a.m., Kenai police conducted a routine traffic stop near Mile 13 of the Kenai Spur Highway. Aaron R. Wirtanen, 22, of Kenai, was issued a summons for driving while license canceled.

On Dec. 15 at 8:42 a.m., Kenai police arrested a male juvenile, 15, of Soldotna for third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and took him to the Youth Detention Facility.

On Dec. 13 At 8:25 a.m., Kenai police responded to a welfare check report at a local hotel near Mile 10 of the Kenai Spur Highway. After the parties involved were contacted, James D. Maxwell, 39, of Kasilof, was arrested on a Soldotna Alaska State Troopers warrant for failure to remand as scheduled, no bail, three days to serve. Maxwell was taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 12 at about 4:00 a.m., Kenai police were patrolling North Beach and located an occupied vehicle. When officers made contact one of the occupants, identified as Brandon J. Campbell, 41, of Anchor Point, was found to have an outstanding warrant from Montana. Campbell was arrested and taken to Wildwood pretrial without incident on his warrant.

On Nov. 28, Kenai police received a report for damaged caused to the Kenai Municipal Airport. After investigation of the scene and interviews, William E. Quill, 49, of Kenai, was issued a summons for failure to give immediate notice of an accident associated with the report.

On Dec. 12 at about 6:20 p.m., Kenai police contacted William E. Quill, 49, of Kenai. A records check indicated that Quill had two outstanding warrants. Quill was arrested and brought to Wildwood Pretrial for the following warrants: Soldotna Alaska State Troopers misdemeanor: Defendant failed to contact Wildwood to schedule remand on the original charge driving under the influence, 150 days to serve with 130 days suspended; Soldotna Alaska State Troopers misdemeanor failure to contact Wildwood Pretrial for remand on the original charge of driving under the influence, no bail, 150 days to serve with 130 days suspended.

On Dec. 12 at about 11:40 p.m., Kenai police conducted a routine traffic stop on Frontage Road near Broad Street and contacted Sharon O. Alexie, 31, of Kenai. A records check indicated that Alexie had an outstanding Soldotna Alaska State Troopers $1,000 arrest warrant for two counts of fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, violating conditions of release for a felony, and a new charge of resisting arrest. Alexie was arrested and taken to Wildwood Pretrial.

On Dec. 10 at about 11:00 a.m., Kenai police responded to the Kenai Pretrial Enforcement Division office for an agency assist. Police arrived on scene and contacted Tausha N. Cornell, 23, of Kenai. After investigation Cornell was placed arrested and taken to Wildwood Pretrial for tampering with physical evidence and violating conditions of release.

On Dec. 10 at about 9:00 p.m., Kenai police responded to an alarm at a local bank located on the Kenai Spur Highway near Mile 11.5 and contacted a parked vehicle with two occupants, which was determined to be unrelated to the bank alarm. A records check indicated that the driver, identified as Floyd A. Sisson, 32, of Kenai, had an outstanding felony $1,500 Soldotna Alaska State Troopers warrant. Sisson was arrested and taken to Wildwood Pretrial for failure to comply with conditions of probation on the original charges of third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, petition to revoke probation, and new charge of technical violation.

On Dec. 20 at 10:25 p.m., Soldotna Alaska State Troopers located and arrested Devan Stockton, 26, of Fairbanks, on an outstanding arrest warrant at a Soldotna residence. During the investigation, Stockton was found to be in violation of his conditions of release in a current Kenai Court case. Stockton was taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility without bail, pending arraignment, on the new charge of violating his conditions of release and the outstanding arrest warrant, which was also for violating his conditions of release.

On Dec. 20 at about 2:50 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off Wapiti Road in Nikiski, where Kade Vincent Lee Robinson, 23, of Nikiski, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on original charges of no insurance and driving in violation of a learner’s permit. Robinson was taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on $50 bail.

On Dec. 21, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated person at Fire Station 2 in Nikiski and contacted a male who had multiple injuries to his face and hand. The male appeared to be under the influence of drugs and reported he had beaten himself with a stick as well as head-butted a tree in an attempt to remove a bullet from his jaw. (No bullet was located.) Investigation revealed that Kevin Park, 27, of Nikiski, had driven to the fire station after the altercation with himself. Park is on conditions of release in a separate case. Park fought with troopers while being placed under arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and violating conditions of release.

On Dec. 14, Alaska State Troopers responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Pollard Loop in Kasilof. Investigation revealed that Greg Caille, 65, of Kasilof, had driven off of the roadway and rolled his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital and issued a misdemeanor summons for driving under the influence.

On Dec. 21 at 4:12 p.m., Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a red Dodge near Scott Way on the Seward Highway for multiple equipment violations. Investigation revealed that Andrea Morris, 44, of Seward, was driving with no motor vehicle liability insurance. Morris was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons to appear to Seward Court. She was released on her own recognizance as the vehicle was towed away.

On Dec. 21, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of domestic violence assault. Following investigation, Mark Tetreault, 60, of Soldotna, was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On Dec. 21 at 5:35 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a request to conduct a welfare check on an adult male at a remote cabin just outside of Soldotna. Family members had attempted to contact the man for multiple days but had received no response. Prior to troopers making it to the area, a family friend went to the cabin to locate the man. The friend found the cabin completely burned to the ground and covered in snow. Troopers and Deputy Fire Marshals responded to the scene and located human remains. The remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner for positive identification. Deputy Fire Marshals are conducting an origin and cause investigation.

Per fish counts available from the department, 471,000 sockeye have been counted so far this year — with 108,000 counted on Wednesday alone.
