Emergency repairs prompt overnight power outage

The Homer Electric Association will be making emergency repairs to a 115,000 volt transmission line tonight, which will cause power outages for certain areas of Soldotna and Kasilof. The outage will begin at 11 p.m. Wednesday and is scheduled to be completed by 3 a.m. The outage will affect approximately 5,500 HEA members in the following areas:

  • Peninsula Center Mall in downtown Soldotna to the intersection of south Kalifornsky Beach Road along the Sterling Highway
  • All of Kalifornsky Beach Road
  • Airport Circle off Funny River Road in Soldotna
