On Monday, Republican officials for District 30 narrowly passed a resolution calling for Rep. Gary Knopp (R-Kenai/Soldotna) to join the state House Republican majority, or resign.

In a phone call Wednesday afternoon, Knopp said he is definitely not going to resign.

Ten officers supported the resolution, with eight opposing. One officer abstained and another officer was not present.

The Alaska State house of Representatives has been without organization since the legislative session began early last month.

Chairman for District 30, Neal DuPerron, said the resolution was mailed to Knopp Tuesday.

The monthly meeting was held at the Ammo Can in Soldotna.
