Paige Sanders of Kenai was among the 298 students to earn degrees from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio, at the college’s 164th Commencement ceremony in May.

Christopher R. Hallford of Soldotna has earned a place on the Idaho State University 2014 spring semester dean’s list for the College of Science and Engineering. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must complete at least 12 semester credits and receive a grade point average of 3.66 or higher.

Courtney Stroh, a Kenai Central High School graduate, has been presented with the P.E.O. Star Scholarship for the 2014-15 academic year. Stroh, the daughter of Gary and Kelli Stroh, was recommended for this scholarship by Chapter M of Kenai, Alaska. Stroh will attend Linfield College where she plans to study environmental science. The P.E.O. Star Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.

Scott Michael Slone graduated cum laude from Illinois Institute of Technology, completing his Bachelor’s degree in Material Science and Engineering. He is engaged to his girlfriend Emily since March 2014, and they plan to marry May 2016. At the moment they are moving to Champaign, Illinois where he will pursue his Master’s in Material Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Kassandra Johnson of Kenai has been named to the Dean’s List at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho for the Spring 2014 semester. To be eligible for the academic honor, a student must earn a 3.5 grade-point average while taking at least twelve graded credit hours of classes.

Delissa Severson of Soldotna was among a record 725 graduates who participated in commencement ceremonies at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon in early May. Severson earned a bachelor of social work degree.
