The Hughes family encountered a bear during a recent hike and said it followed them back to their vehicle, despite several warning shots that were fired at it. Wildlife managers said bears can be out in any month of the year, but hikers should be especially careful to be aware of wildlife activity, given the unseasonably warm temperatures.
