Flavored by Flowers

By Brent Johnson, Clam Gulch

About “bee gold” there is an obsession

but it isn’t a color or even a possession.

It isn’t an age, though that’s a suggestion,

those words are a buzz for motley expression!

Take a bee gold bike and vintage is growing

it must have size and distinction worth showing.

It might be blue, yellow or black as night

and the words have to fit in a sentence just right.

We could hear of a bee gold rainbow

if sunlit vapor hits the right angle.

Or we might have a bee gold snake

if there is a point that is creepy to make.

Bees have been busy to meld their idiom

and who can say it isn’t a pretty one?

But apiary vocabulary include terms with no class

you’ve heard it before in the sound of “bee gas.”

I won’t belabor words that just stink

like a bee gas car, excuse my wink.

Or a bee gas bear straight from the creek

honey be dripping from the tongue in his cheek!
