Members of Central Emergency Services attend to the scene of a two-vehicle accident blocking traffic on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the intersection of Kalifornsky Beach Road and Poppy Lane in Soldotna, Alaska.

“A larger truck impacted the driver’s side of a full sized pickup truck,” said Captain Reed Quinton with Central Emergency Services.

CES was called out to the accident at 10:07 a.m., Quinton said, and the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital. There were no other injuries. The crash at the intersection of K-Beach Road and Poppy Lane blocked traffic and caused cars to be routed to either side of the road.

The intersection was cleared just over an hour later at 11:10 a.m., said Captain Andy Greenstreet, commander of the E-Detachment for the Alaska State Troopers.

Both Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers were on scene assisting with traffic control and doing some scene documentation, Greenstreet said.
