Summertime – and the joy it brings

We love to hear the robin sing!

Grandchildren playing in the sand

Building castles, and saying

Gramma, I need a hand!

They can never get enough ice cream,

Or enough jumps on the trampoline.

Campfires, stories and s’mores,

Playing and fishing on the shore

Makes me feel young again,

Remembering “way back when”.

Often wish I could go back in time,

But then again, I wouldn’t want

To trade the new joy that is mine.
