Wednesday hoops: Unalaska girls, Ninilchik boys pick up conference wins

The Unalaska girls and Ninilchik boys picked up Southern Conference victories Wednesday at Ninilchik School.

The Unalaska girls notched a 34-15 victory over Ninilchik. The Wolverines fell to 3-12 overall and 0-5 in the league.

For Ninilchik, Lily Berger and Rylee Lemons each had 6, while Bella Berger had 3.

Jenelle Remolino paced Unalaska with 15, while Abija Maynard-Gumbs had 8, Rylee LaForteza had 5, Adyson Scott had 4 and Dalyla Nettleton had 2.

The Ninilchik boys won 70-40 to move to 12-7 overall and 4-2 in the league.

Kade McCorison once again led the way for Ninilchik with 35 points, while Andon McCorison had 21, Maxx Russell had 8, Brandt Mill had 3 and Eric Radar had 2.

For Unalaska, Kaiden Parker had 19, Nicolas Kitsyuk had 7, Jade A Cabulu had 6, and Anatoly Fomin, RJ Dumo and Adam Shapsnikoff each had 2.

The Wolverines now host the first edition of the Keith Presley Memorial Basketball Tournament on Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 13 to 15.

Thursday, the Nikiski JV girls play Unalaska at 2 p.m., the Nikiski boys play Unalaska at 3:30 p.m., the Tok girls play Ninilchik at 5 p.m. and the Tok boys play Ninilchik at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, the Unalaska girls play Tok at 2 p.m., the Unalaska boys play Tok at 3:30 p.m., the Nikiski JV girls play Ninilchik at 5 p.m. and the Nikiski boys play Ninilchik at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, the Tok girls play Nikiski JV at 11 a.m., the Tok boys play Nikiski at 12:30 p.m., the Unalaska girls play Ninilchik at 2 p.m. and the Unalaska boys play Ninilchik at 3:45 p.m.
