The Homer girls knocked off the Nikiski Bulldogs 3-0 in a clash between Northern Lights Conference opponents. The game did not count toward the team’s NLC records or tournament seeding. The Mariners improved to 2-4 overall this year.
Homer got goals from Uliana Reutov, Raisa Basargin and Andie Sonnen, while sophomore Ali McCarron earned the shutout in goal.
The Nikiski and Homer boys game, also scheduled for Thursday, was canceled, leading to a forfeit for the Nikiski boys team. The Homer boys will take on Ketchikan today at 4 p.m., while the Homer and Ketchikan girls squads will scrimmage at 6 p.m.
