The host Homer girls soccer team defeated Grace Christian 5-0 on Thursday in nonconference action to move to 1-0-1 overall.
Christi Weisser had the shutout in net for the Mariners. Homer head coach Mike Tozzo also wrote in a text message that Addi Grimes was his player of the game for her play at center back.
Ruby Hill led the Mariners with a pair of goals, while Minadora Reutov, Channing Lowney and Regan Baker also found the back of the net.
The game between the Homer and Grace boys was canceled.
