Soldotna’s Cory Davis took fourth place in the Monster Energy Snowmobile Freestyle at X Games Aspen 2016 on Friday.

Davis had a score of 83.33 in the first run and 83.66 in the second run, for a best of 83.66.

Joe Parsons won the gold with a best of 90.00, while Heath Frisby got silver at 87.66 and Brett Turcotte got bronze at 86.66.

Davis has X Games experience going all the way back to 2007, and has three silvers and three bronzes to his credit.

At X Games Aspen in 2015, Davis nabbed a silver in long jump and bronze in speed and style.

His other silvers came in the long jump in 2014 and the speed and style in 2013. The other bronzes came in speed and style in 2009 and 2011.

Since this year’s X Games Aspen did not have long jump or speed and style, Davis spent the month leading up to Friday training with Frisby and Parsons to learn about freestyle, and the work almost resulted in a medal in a third discipline.
