Soldotna graduates Adarra Hagelund, Dylan Dahlgren and Galen Brantley III all had big days for Dickinson State (North Dakota) on Sunday, Feb. 16, at the North Star Athletic Association indoor track and field championships in Brookings, South Dakota.
Hagelund won the high jump at 5 feet, 7 inches, to help the Blue Hawks to their seventh straight conference title.
Dickinson State scored 279.5 points, while Dakota State was runner-up at 185.
Hagelund also was fifth in the triple jump at 34—.75.
The Dickinson State boys finished second at the meet, with Dakota State scoring 253 points and the Blue Hawks scoring 200.5 points.
Dahlgren won the weight throw at 61—8.25. He also was sixth in the shot put at 50—10.
Brantley III, who missed the football season with a foot injury, finished fifth in the shot put at 51—11.
The three will now head to the NAIA National Championships starting Thursday, Feb. 27, in Gainseville, Fla.
