The Peninsula Oilers fell 9-3 to the host Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks on Wednesday.

It is the fourth-straight loss for the Oilers, including dropping the first three of the current six-game road trip.

Once again, the Oilers could not slow down the Goldpanners at the plate, as Fairbanks had 14 hits.

The Oilers drop to 7-10 in the Alaska Baseball League. They are 4 1-2 games behind the Anchorage Bucs, who lead the American League. The Panners are in second in the American League, two games behind the Bucs.

The Oilers face the Panners in a 5 p.m. doubleheader today.

The Panners took a 3-0 lead after two innings.

Oilers starter Dan Kolodin took the loss, pitching 4 2-3 innings and giving up nine hits and four earned runs.

The Oilers were able to cut the gap to 3-2 after four innings and 4-3 after six innings, but a big five-run rally in the eighth inning by the Panners put the game out of reach.

Kris Paulino was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and a run to lead the Panners. For the Oilers, seven different players collected a hit.
