On and off the track, Kenai’s Taylor Ostrander has the stats to dazzle.

The 2012 Kenai Central graduate was chosen for the 2014-15 NCAA Division III All-Academic Track and Field team. With a grade point average of 3.8, the Willamette University (Oregon) junior is majoring in exercise science.

To make the All-Academic team, an athlete is required to hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher while either competing at the NCAA Championships or by finishing the regular season ranked in the top 35 of an individual event or top 25 of a relay.

Ostrander competes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, with finishes of 11th and 13th to her credit at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships. Ostrander’s PR of 10 minutes, 40.86 seconds, was set at the Oregon Twilight meet in 2014, a time that ranks third-best in school history in the event.
