Make your plans to see the Oilers in action when the Peninsula’s team opens the season June 11 against the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks in a seven-inning, tuneup, exhibition game. The official Oilers’ Alaska Baseball League season opener follows with games against the 2014 ABL Top of the World Series champion Goldpanners on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The O’s have signed a pair of right-handed pitchers from West Texas A&M University. Freshman Conner Dotson, who hails from Flower Mound, Texas, will be joined by senior Sean Michel from Yorba Linda, California. Also new to the Oilers is Crowder Community College sophomore catcher Blake Wilfong, who is from Jerseyville, Illinois.

Check out the Oilers website at oilersbaseball.com to find season games and special-event schedules, and much more.

Oilers Corner is submitted by Mike Baxter of the Alaska Baseball League team.
