The Nikolaevsk mixed six volleyball team defeated Seldovia for the Denali Conference title Saturday in Seldovia.
Both squads qualify for the Mixed Six State Tournament in Anchorage, starting Dec. 3. It is the third-straight state trip for the Warriors.
Nikolaevsk’s Neil Gordeev was the conference MVP, while the Warriors also put Greg Trail, Megan Hickman and Jonah Yakunin on the all-conference squad. Aidan Philpot and Olivia Turner made the team for Seldovia.
“Our kids are improving,” Nikolaevsk coach Bea Klaich said. “I think they have a real shot at this.”
