The Valdez football team will travel to Nikiski at noon Saturday, Sept. 6, for a scrimmage at noon.
“It will be unofficial, but we are very happy that our team will get to take the field at home this weekend,” Dylan Hooper, Nikiski athletic director, wrote in a Thursday email.
Wednesday, Hooper had wrote in an email that Valdez did not have enough players to play an official game.
The Bulldogs move to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the Railbelt Conference after the forfeit. Saturday, Sept. 13, Nikiski will play at Monroe Catholic at 1 p.m.
