Soldotna senior Bechler Metcalf put pen to paper Jan. 19 at Soldotna High School and signed his letter of intent to wrestle at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

Metcalf, a four-time varsity wrestling letter winner, will be pursuing an English Education major.

Metcalf was a two-year captain on the team, captured a Region III title at 152 pounds and finished second at state to cap a 33-4 senior season. Metcalf finished his prep career with 17 total pins.

As a Raider, Metcalf is projected to compete at 157 or 165 pounds at Northwestern, an NAIA school.
