Kenai volleyball leads peninsula on 1st day of Spiketacular

The Kenai Central volleyball team led the Kenai Peninsula on the first day of the West Spiketacular with a 4-2 record in Pool C.

The teams will finish up pool play today before advancing to bracket play later in the day.

The Kardinals are 4-2 in Pool C. Kenai topped East 25-13 and 25-11, split with Thunder Mountain by losing 20-19 and winning 25-20, and split with Service by losing 25-23 and winning 21-16.

In Pool A, Soldotna was 2-6 while Seward was 3-5.

Soldotna lost to Kodiak 25-23 and 24-15, split with Seward by losing 25-20 and winning 25-21, and split with Wasilla by losing 25-19 and winning 26-25, and was swept 25-17 and 25-5 by Dimond.

Seward lost to Dimond 25-20 and 25-7, split with Soldotna, lost to Chugiak 25-20 and 25-19, and swept Grace 25-15 and 25-12.

In Pool B, Homer is 2-4. The Mariners lost to South 26-24 and 23-19, lost to Ketchikan 25-17 and 25-23, and defeated Eagle River 25-16 and 25-18.
