Kenai, SoHi baseball get wins

The Kenai Central baseball team went on the road to claim a 19-3 Southcentral Conference victory against Redington in five innings Thursday.

Kenai improves to 4-3 in the league and 5-5 overall.

Brady Bostic went the distance for the Kardinals on the mound and didn’t give up any earned runs.

Bostic and Charlie Chamberlain both finished 2 for 3 at the plate.

Soldotna 21, Homer 3

The visiting Stars topped the Mariners in five innings in Peninsula Conference play to move to 5-1 in the league and 7-2 overall. The Mariners drop to 0-4 and 1-6.

Riley Johnson went four innings to notch the win, allowing no runs on three hits while fanning eight and walking one. Nate Mowery pitched the final inning, giving up three earned runs on two hits while walking one.

At the plate for the Stars, Jacob Belger scored three runs, Levi Mickelson was 2 for 2 with five runs and two RBIs, Atticus Gibson had four runs and two RBIs, Dylan Davidhizar had two runs, Johnson was 3 for 4 with five RBIs, Derrick Jones had two runs, and Gavin Jones was 2 for 3 with three runs.

For Homer, Jonathon Gregoire, Henry Wedvick and Camden Wise had trouble stopping Soldotna’s bats.

Malachi Raymond had two hits and a run, while Gregoire had a run, and Preston Stanislaw had a run and an RBI.
