Homer’s Ridgely, Kenai’s Crawford finish top 5 in endurance event

A pair of Kenai Peninsula athletes had top-five finishes at the Susitna 100 and Little Su 50K on Saturday and Sunday in the Matanuska-Susitna valleys.

In the women’s 100-mile run, Laura McDonough of Anchorage won at 28:39:00, while Homer’s Annie Ridgely was fifth at 33:43:00.

In the men’s 100-mile bike ride, Anchorage’s Josh Chelf won at 9:07:01. Kasilof’s Brian Marang was 12th at 12:48:00, Homer’s Marc Romano was 50th at 21:53:00, Homer’s Aaron Christ was 51st at 21:53:01 and Seward’s Jesse Osborn was 66th at 26:59:00. In the women’s 100-mile bike ride, Anchorage’s Laura Fox won at 10:35:01, while Soldotna’s Kathleen Morrison was 11th at 25:01:00.

In the men’s 50-kilometer bike, Anchorage’s Will Ross won at 2:15:49, while Kenai’s Mike Crawford finished at 2:22:25, Kasilof’s Robert Toll finished 22nd at 3:02:48 and Kenai’s M. Scott Moon finished 46th at 4:52:22.
