Homer softball finishes play at Rally in Valley

The Homer softball team finished up the Rally in the Valley softball tournament with a 15-4 loss to Delta Junction in six innings on Saturday. The Mariners now stand at 3-3 overall.

Homer led 4-2 after three innings, but Delta put up 11 runs in the top of the sixth to take control.

Zoe Adkins pitched the whole game for Homer. Only five of her runs were earned.

Grace Godfrey was 3 for 3 with two RBIs for the Mariners, while Hannah Hatfield was 2 for 4.

Homer 15, Monroe Catholic 8

The Mariners improved to 2-1 overall by notching a Friday victory in three innings over the Rams at the Rally in the Valley.

The Mariners banged out 14 hits in the three innings. Grace Godfrey was 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs, Delilah Harris was 2 for 3 with two runs, Hannah Hatfield had three runs, Ariana Davis was 2 for 3 with three RBIs, Fiona Hatton was 2 for 3 with two runs, Sophie Ellison was 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs, and Emily Owens had two RBIs.

On the mound, Hatfield gave up four runs without getting an out, Ariana Davis gave up a run on no hits in an inning, and Zoe Adkins gave up three runs on five hits in two innings.

Homer 7, Palmer 1

The Mariners improved to 3-1 overall with a victory in seven innings over the Moose at the Rally in the Valley tournament Friday.

Zoe Adkins pitched all seven innings for Homer, giving up six hits and a run while walking one and striking out 12.

On offense, Delilah Harris was 2 for 3 and Hannah Hatfield was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs. Adkins also had a pair of RBIs.

Homer took a 7-0 lead after 3 1-2 innings, with Palmer scoring its lone run in the bottom of the seventh.

West Valley 6, Homer 1

The Mariners dropped a 6-1 decision in four innings to West Valley on Friday on Rally in the Valley.

The game was tied at 1 after two innings before West Valley had a run in the third and four runs in the fourth.

Zoe Adkins pitched all four innings and gave up six runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out four.

Adkins, Sophie Ellison, Delilah Harris and Grace Godfrey had the hits for Homer.
