Hagelund, Brantley, Dahlgren help Dickinson State to sweep of NSAA outdoor track titles

Soldotna High School graduates Adarra Hagelund, Galen Brantley III and Dylan Dahlgren helped Dickinson State (North Dakota) to a sweep on its home track of the North Star Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday and Friday, May 8 and 9.

The women won the conference championship for the eighth straight time, while the win snapped a five-year winning streak by Dakota State. The NSAA will conclude its operations after this academic year.

Hagelund won the high jump at 5 feet, 7.25 inches, and also was second in the triple jump at 36 feet, 5 inches. That triple jump mark is a new PR for her.

Brantley III was second in the shot put at 53—10.5, fifth in the hammer throw at 163—5 and seventh in the discus at 146—3.

Dahlgren was second in the hammer throw at 185—11, fifth in the discus at 145—11, 11th in the shot put at 42—.5 and 13th in the javelin at 123—5.

Next up for the trio is the NAIA Championships in Marion, Indiana, from May 21 to 23.

Hagelund goes into the meet with the best NAIA high jump of the season at 5—10.75.

Dahlgren goes into the meet seventh in the hammer throw at 193—10.

Brantley III goes into the meet 15th in the shot put at 53—10.5.
