The Kenai and Seward girls and boys basketball teams all won Friday at the Seahawk Classic at Seward.
The Kardinals boys can wrap up the title Saturday at 2 p.m. by topping the Seahawks. The Kenai and Seward girls are both perfect at the tournament thus far and will play for the title at 3:30 p.m.
The Seward girls defeated Delta 41-25 to improve to 9-2 overall.
Grace Fleming had 13 for Seward, while Lia Shank had 8, Ava Jagielski had 7, Addison Lemme had 3 and Natalie Sieminski had 2.
The Seahawks boys topped the Huskies 54-49 to move to 6-5 overall.
Emerson Cross had 13 to lead the Seahawks, while Talon Lemme had 9, Jack Lindquist and Noah Price had 8 and Mason Elhard had 7.
The Kenai girls held off Kodiak 51-47 and have now won 10 of 11 to improve to 11-5 overall.
Ellsi Miller poured in 23 points for the Kards, while Makenzie Spence had 9, Evelyn Cooper and Willow Graham had 5, Bryleigh Williams had 3, and Sierra Hershberger, Gracee Every and Jenica Andersen had 2.
The Kenai boys toppled West’s junior varsity 58-40 for a fifth straight win that put the Kards at 10-6 overall.
Miles Metteer had 23 points to pace the Kardinals, while Caleb Litke had 15, Reid Titus had 10, Riel Castillo had 3, Garrett McCanna, Carter Felchle and Mason Tunseth had 2, and Eli Smith had 1.
Colony sweeps Soldotna
The host Colony girls and boys defeated Soldotna on Friday in Northern Lights Conference action.
The Colony girls won 74-27 to drop the Stars to 2-3 in the league and 9-8 overall.
For SoHi, Juliet Innes, Alyssa McDonald and Hope Hillyer had 4, Anaulie Sedivy, Laurel Johnson and Isabelle Cruz had 3, and Grayson Henry, Brooke Walters and Cassidy Kruse had 2.
For the Colony girls, Hallie Clark had 19, Tonya Karpow had 16, Alycia Shelley had 13, Annie Bush had 7, Ashlyn Waggoner and Jericho Wuestenberg had 6, Grace Spencer had 3, and Ella Hopkins and Aria Smith had 2.
The Colony boys won 59-54 to drop the Stars to 2-3 in the league and 7-10 overall.
Soldotna trailed 15-13 after the opening quarter, but had a 27-25 lead at the half. The Knights went up 42-37 after the third quarter, but SoHi was up by 1 with 30 seconds left.
Mylz Mongeau then put the Knights up by 2 with a three-point play, and SoHi then turned the ball over.
Easton Hawkins had 18 to lead the Stars, while Izaiah Gilbert had 15. Also, Theo Huff had 7, Jayden Stuyvesant had 6, Owen Buckbee had 4, and Josh Babcock and Bryan Berg had 2.
For the Colony boys, Leyton Lockard had 17, Mongeau had 14, Jordan Sterling had 9, Charlie Gardner had 8, Nile Deland had 6, Ridge Spencer had 3 and Trenton Lockard had 2.
Ninilchik sweeps Nanwalek
Host Ninilchik swept Nanwalek on Friday in nonconference action, with the Wolverines girls winning 37-35 in overtime and the boys winning 71-58.
The Ninilchik girls moved to 3-10 overall, while the Nanwalek girls are 0-5 overall. The Ninilchik boys are 8-6 overall, while the Nanwalek boys are 0-3 overall.
Andon McCorison paced the Wolverines boys with 26 points, while Kade McCorison had 25. Also, Max Russell had 8, Eric Radar had 7, Brandt Mill had 3, and Holden Cameron and Gabe Kerrone had 2.
For the Nanwalek boys, Sean Moonin led with 19, while Kenji Simmons had 15, Macarius Evans had 12, Dmitri Kvasnikoff and Shane Moonin had 5, and Noah Seville had 2.
Cook Inlet Academy boys 63, Holy Rosary Academy 31
The host Eagles notched a Peninsula Conference victory Friday to move to 3-0 in the league and 12-4 overall.
Zach Armstrong led the way with 16 for the Eagles, while Jonas Oyoumick and Brandt Rollman had 12, Owen Braband had 8, Matthew Phillips had 6, Hyrum Henderson had 4, Nate Shaw had 3, and Lucas Oyoumick and Blaine Hunt had 2.
Kotzebue Shootout
The Homer boys lost to Nome 82-58 on Friday at the Kotzebue Shootout to fall to 2-8 overall.
For the Homer boys, Spencer Dye got loose for 17, while Henry Wedvik had 16, Einar Pederson and Graham Plumlee had 8, Benjamin Engebretsen had 5, and Preston Stanislaw and Jamen Anderson had 2.
Cohen Booth had 22 for Nome, while Finn Gregg had 20, Lane Schuerch had 10, Levi Pederson had 8, Josh Contreras and Kevin Ongtowasruk had 6, Kendall Ulroan had 5, and Orson Hoogendorn had 4.
The Homer girls lost 58-30 to Kotzebue to fall to 2-10 overall.
