CrossFit Kainos brought 17 two-person teams to the Alaska Fitness Expo on Oct. 24 to compete at “The Deuces Wild Tandem Throwdown” at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage.

A pair of teams were able to take first place. Samantha Dixon and Jordan Schneider were first in the female/female RX division, while Robin Johnson and Lara Creighton were first in the female/female teen division.

Also from CrossFit Kainos, Joel Burns and Zach Burns were third in the parent/child division and Brennen Jackson and Britt Jackson were third in the male/female RX division.

According to Brennen Jackson of CrossFit Kainos, the scaled division incorporates less technical movements at lighter loads. In RX, the movements are typically more advanced and the loads are heavier.

Jackson said the CrossFit event was focused on fun and community and was part of an Alaska Fitness Expo that included things such as mixed martial arts, power lifting, dance, body building and much more.
