Atkinson, Youngren take Salmon Run Series 4

Collin Atkinson and Megan Youngren won the fourth round of the Salmon Run Series on Wednesday at Tsalteshi Trails just outside of Soldotna.

Atkinson toured the 5-kilometer course in 20 minutes, 38 seconds, to win the men’s race, while Youngren finished at 21:39 to win the women’s race and come in third overall. Ian McGarry finished second at 21:15, while Kristin Davis was the second women’s finisher, and fifth overall, at 23:50.

The final race of the series is Wednesday at Tsalteshi. Runners meet at the track at Skyview Middle School. The 1-kilometer kids race starts at 6 p.m., while the 5-kilometer race starts at 6:15 p.m.
