A pair of athletes from Top of the World Swimming, the area masters swimming group, competed at the 2025 U.S. Masters Spring Nationals in San Antonio from Thursday through Sunday, April 24 to 27.
Competing in the men’s 40 to 44 age group, Lucas Petersen won the men’s 100-yard individual medley in his age group at 54.86 seconds. Petersen had a seed time of 56.21 in the event.
Also in his age group, Petersen was second in the 50 butterfly at 23.19, third in the 100 butterfly at 52.11, fourth in the 50 freestyle at 21.89 and sixth in the 100 freestyle at 49.26.
Petersen also was part of a 200 free relay team that finished 14th in 1:37.99. Petersen swam the anchor leg and split a 21.46.
Daniel McIntosh competed in the 30 to 34 age group. The best individual finish for McIntosh came in the 100 breaststroke, where he was 21st in 1:13.08.
McIntosh was 35th in the 100 freestyle in 58.20 and 49th in the 50 freestyle at 26.68.
He also swam in a pair of relays.
His 200 freestyle relay finished 14th in 1:37.99. McIntosh swam the second leg and split a 26.31.
Also, he was on a 200 medley relay that took 17th in 1:53.28. McIntosh swam the second leg — the breaststroke leg — and split 33.30.
