I’m so disappointed in Governor Dunleavy and his actions in governing our state. He has slashed education funding and ignored the base student allocation (bsa) that gives school districts the funds needed to educate their students. His attorney general has overstepped the parental notification law. Alaska is losing population and cutting funding to basic necessities is not helping. There is a shortage of staffing in the public assistance office which has led to a backlog of those in need. It’s quite a distraction and misleading to offer the largest permanent fund dividend. Dividends don’t fund schools or pay for workers to staff public offices. I’m so disappointed in the actions of our governor and former educator.
Sincerely,
Sammy Crawford, Kenai
