The Kenai Police Department is no longer searching for two police impersonators after it was determined that an incident reported last month did not occur.
On Oct. 25, the Kenai Police Department received a report that two people driving in a vehicle with emergency lights impersonated police officers by conducting a traffic stop. The department requested the public’s help in locating the two people.
Investigation into the case resulted in the person who made the report being charged with making a false police report.
