A Kenai man was arrested last week after reportedly choking a woman at the Kenai Community Library.
Brandon M. Knight, 23, faces one count of second-degree assault after a woman reported on April 26 that she had been sleeping at the library when she was awakened by Knight choking her, according to an affidavit filed with the court.
The woman, who later told police she was awake when he was choking her, reported that she felt pain when he put his hands around her throat. Two witnesses reported seeing Knight’s hands around the woman’s throat, according to the affidavit. Second-degree assault is a class B felony. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7.
