Shanon Davis will step down as executive director of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 22 to take a marketing position at Central Peninsula Hospital, the chamber announced Thursday.
Davis, who took on the role of executive director in 2017, oversaw the implementation of Soldotna’s “Holding Our Own,” shop local program, which distributed more than $650,000 in vouchers to Soldotna shoppers. That’s in addition to her work in securing the Levitt AMP Soldotna grant, which expanded the city’s music in the park offerings.
“This was the right time for me to begin a new chapter of my life,” Davis is quoted as saying in a release. “I will always cherish the opportunities and experiences the Chamber and its board of directors have provided me. Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving.”
Per the chamber release, Davis will continue to serve on the Soldotna Riverfront Redevelopment Advisory Committee. The Soldotna Chamber Board of Directors is working to find a new executive director to take over following Davis’ departure.
