Poet’s Corner: My Protocol

My Protocol

By Bill Lowe, Sterling

Each year in May,

our military we observe.

Thank you for giving;

your willingness to serve.

The rewards you receive

are far less than you deserve.

Lord, bless our military,

I whole heartedly pray;

keep our soldiers protected,

and out of harm’s way.

Bring each one home safely,

back to the US of A.

Guide their families.

Let their courage not cease.

Watch over them with love

and grant them your peace.

Lord, safeguard them;

all fear, completely decrease.

Stand by each soldier daily,

and long past nightfall.

Keep their troubles few

and their woes ever small.

Be with them, protect them,

‘tis my protocol.
