Income tax would fix bloated budget

The question of how to deal with Alaska budget problem: Reinstate the Alaska Income Tax as it served Alaska well before 1980 when it was discontinued with the idea that the oil industry could then fund mostly all of the Alaska budget along with starting a lot of projects that eventually resulted in a “bloated” budget that the state is dealing with today. There was little oversight of how this seemingly endless infusion of revenue was maintained.

With the reinstatement of State Income Tax the people of the state will pay closer attention to how their tax dollars are handled.

After 1980 a large number of non-resident workers went south with their income contributing little to the benefits they received.

If a State Income Tax was effective before 1980 I don’t see why it couldn’t be effective now. Plus leave the P.F.D. program as is now.
