Kasilof man dies in snowmachine accident

A Kasilof man who died in a snowmachine accident Tuesday was found with the still running Polaris on top of him.

Alaska State State Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said Randall Wilson, 45, was discovered at the end of a driveway on Teal Drive in Kasilof early Tuesday.

"We received a call at 6:21 a.m. from a woman saying she had found a man underneath a running snowmachine at the end of her driveway," Peters said.

Wilson was headed north along Teal Drive and was likely trying to turn back on the roadway before being ejected from his machine, Peters said.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, according to Peters.

The accident may have occurred hours before troopers arrived, Peters said, and by the time they responded the man showed "no signs of life."
