Fisherman's fund meeting planned

The Cook Inlet Fishermen's Fund will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association Building.

Topics on the agenda will be a brief summary of activities, the status of the takings lawsuit, and plans for the upcoming year. Members and commercial fishermen are encouraged to attend. Board members will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a brief meeting.

Totem Tracers to meet

The Kenai Totem Tracers Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Kenai Community Library. The program will be military records and genealogy networking.

Prostate cancer support group meeting slated

A meeting for men affected by prostate cancer will be held a 7 p.m. Thursday in the Redoubt room at Central Peninsula Hospital.

Crime to be discussed

The Friday Community Dialogue series continues with a discussion entitled "Crime and Lawlessness: Rights, Enforcement and Social Responsibility" to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Kenai Peninsula College Commons. A potluck dinner will precede the dialogue at 6:30 p.m.

Friday Dialogues bring people in the community together for listening, speaking and learning in an environment of respect for diverse opinions. Sponsored by The Roundtable: Center for Mediation and Community Dialogue and the KPC Student Union. For more information, call Heidi at 283-9227.

Thanksgiving meals available

Engage Youth Movement and Kenai New Life Assembly of God will give away 50 Thanksgiving meals Nov. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edwards Jones in Kenai next to McDonalds. These will be given away to the first 50 people or families that need them. For more information, call 252-9747.

Wreathes available

The Soldotna High School Ski Team annual Christmas Wreath fundraiser will be held Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost of each wreath is $45.

Gardeners to gather

The Central Peninsula Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road, near the Bridge Access Road intersection.

The featured speakers will be Ron and Dan Sexton. Their topic will be "First Comes the Dream, the history of Trinity Greenhouse." Ron has participated in the Alaska Farm Bureau, Kenai peninsula Farm Bureau, Alaska Horticultural Assc., member of Governor Hickel's Agricultural Task Force, and a member of the Central Peninsula Garden Club.

The club will also host wreath making workshops are scheduled for Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. and Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at Alaska Pioneer Photos in Soldotna. The instructor will be Elizabeth Eskelin.

Registration forms will be available at the Dec. 1 meeting. Participants will leave with a completed wreath. Wire and spruce boughs will be supplied. Attendees are asked to bring decorations and wreath frames. The fee is $16.

Garden Club Programs are open to the public. Refreshments served and sometimes door prizes. Annual dues are $20, couples $30.

Cookie orders begin

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church will sale sorted Christmas cookies by pre-order only. The cost is $4 per dozen. Call Liz at 262-5525, Rick at 262-1763, or Diane at 262-1714 by Dec. 8.

Cookies will be ready for pick-up or delivery Dec. 16. The group takes a limited of orders.

Nikiski pool activities set

The Nikiski pool will hold the following events:

* Water aerobics are held from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

* Semi-private swim classes will held Dec. 1-11. Sign-ups are ongoing.
