Oilers Corner


Oilers sign two Wildcats

The Peninsula Oilers have signed a pair of Wildcats from Villanova University.

Adrian Schau, a 6-foot-1 right-handed pitcher, is from Novato, Calif., and is a sophomore studying finance. Junior outfielder Chris Graziano is from Hamilton, N.J., studies communications and was named to the 2000 Big East all-star team.

Carmen Cali (Oilers 1999) was a combined 8-3 with the Potomac Cannons and the Peoria Chiefs minor league teams in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Other Oilers alumni playing their first season of professional baseball include Jeff Jones (Oilers 1999-2000) who batted .289 and was successful in 11 of 12 stolen base attempts in the Cardinals organization and Jared Pitney (Oilers 1998-1999), who hit .272 in the New York Yankees farm organization.
