SoHi to host youth basketball camp

Soldotna High School will host a youth basketball camp for boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. The camp will be on Dec. 5 and 12. Kindergarten through third grade will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. and grades four through six will run from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The cost is $35 and all participants will receive a T-shirt. Brown Bears form cheer squad

The Kenai River Brown Bears are looking for high school students to join the cheer squad. Those interested should contact 398-7875.

Coaches, refs meeting set for men's league

The Kenai Rec Center will host a coaches meeting and referee clinic on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. The meeting is required for all coaches and referees that will participate in the 2009-10 adult men's league.

Open women's volleyball tourney slated

The second annual Like 2 Spike Tournament will be held on Jan. 2, 2010, at the AT&T Sports Complex in the Matanuska-Susitna valleys. This is a women's open volleyball tournament.

Pool play will start at 9 a.m., then there will be bracket play in the afternoon. The team fee is $200 for those signing up before Nov. 31.
