Permit Hunt Application Changes

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation is implementing changes to the permit hunt application system.

The application period for all Tier I, Tier II and drawing hunts is occurring now, from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31. Hunters must apply now for all hunts that occur in the spring and fall of 2010 and spring of 2011.

This change extends the application period to two months and allows for an earlier release of results providing more time for hunt preparation and planning. Results which were previously released mid-July will be released in late March.

Hunter who miss the Dec. 15 deadline for mail in applications will still have an additional two weeks to apply online.

Online applications will be accepted until Dec. 31.
